MCCY COS 2025 Animated Films

What’s Up?
For MCCY's Committee of Supply 2025, I had the opportunity to shape the visual direction for a series of three animated films, each centred around one of the ministry's key pillars: Youth, Community, and Arts & Heritage.
From the outset, we wanted the films to feel warm, familiar, and rooted in Singapore's shared story. Inspired by the charm of stop-motion animation, we combined paper cutouts, archival imagery, and handcrafted textures to create a visual style that felt both nostalgic and contemporary.
Working closely with illustrators and animators, I helped develop a cohesive art direction that carried across all three films. Every scene was carefully considered, from the composition and colour palette to the layering of textures and movement, so that each story felt tactile, heartfelt, and distinctly Singaporean.
